Changes brought about by PM Modi

The NDA Government under the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi assumed office in the year 2014. Since his assuming the office, many significant changes have taken place and India is marching ahead on the path of prosperity.

Below listed are the key changes that have taken place:

1. Deregulation of diesel

This decision was pending for years and Modi took the initiative of deregulating diesel and linking its price with the international market.

2. Growth in GDP

Not many people know but for a brief duration, the GPD of India had overtaken China making India the fastest growing economy in the world.

3. Increase in Foreign Direct Investment

Giving a boost to the defense sector purchases, Modi Government allowed FDI in Defense sector, something which earlier regimes did not think about. This move is likely to fasten the process of equipment acquisition by the Indian army, something which it needs urgently.

4. Jan Dhan Yojna

Merely after coming to power in May 2014, Modi announced Jan Dhan Yojna in August 2014. Under this scheme, over 15 crore bank accounts have been opened in last one year enabling benefits to the poor masses across the country.

5. Demonetization

The historic step of demonetization was taken by Modi on the night of 28th October 2016. Currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 were rendered invalid and a striking blow on black money was dealt with this master stroke.
