Do you know about the famous Indians who died in mysterious conditions?
As they say that there are no free lunches in the world. Success comes with its own disadvantages and mysterious outcomes. Here we have paid a tribute to a few famous Indian celebrities who enriched our culture with their astonishing career achievements but fate came just the other way round to knock them when they were at the peaks of their career.


1. Sunanda Pushkar


 
Sunanda Pushkar, an Indian businesswoman and the wife of the famous politician and diplomat Shashi Tharoor was found dead in her hotel room just a day after her twitter war of words with Mehr Tarar took place. Up till now, there has been no clear evidence or knowledge as to what caused her death. 

2. Smita Patil


 

Smita Patil, a well established Indian actress was reported dead at the age of 31 just after few weeks after giving birth to her child, Prateik Babbar.
At the time it was said that she died due to childhood complications, but allegations were later made by a famous Indian director, Mrinal Sen, that there was a major negligence on medical grounds which caused her death. It still remains a mystery.

3. Divya Bharti


 

Divya Om Prakash Bharti started her career early at the age of 16 debuting in a Telugu film as a lead actress.
She then did a record number of 14 films between 1992 and 1993 which is still an unbroken record for any newcomer in this industry till date.
Unfortunately, she was found dead after falling from the balcony of her five-storey apartment, at the shockingly young age of 19. The cause of her death was not officially confirmed ever.

4. Silk Smitha

 

Silk Smitha, the South sex siren, was a rage in the early 1980s. She did a record number of 450 films in a career span of 17 years. Later she was found dead on 23 September 1996, in her apartment apparently having committed suicide, although the actual reason of her death was never clear.

5. Parveen Babi


 
Parveen Babi, a woman who was represented as a bohemian beauty in her films was quite a cool and westernised Indian girl at that time of the era when many stereotypes were inbuilt in the Indian society.
She came to be recognised for her western, cool look. She also became the first woman in Asia to be featured in the TIME magazine.
Her death was rather tragically sad and mysterious. She was found dead by the police, after almost 72 hours after her death, apparently having starved herself to death.

6. Madhubala

 

Madhubala, the irresistible Indian beauty died at the age of 36 after a very prolonged illness. She was diagnosed with a hole in her heart, which lead to various illnesses and due to the ailment her body would create extra blood and it came out in the form of vomits and through the nose. She became extremely thin and only skin and bones remained at the time of her death.She has made a remarkable impression on the hearts of millions by her exemplary performances which the world still reminisces.

7. Guru Dutt

 

Guru Dutt or Vasanth Kumar Shivshankar Padukone , was an Indian film producer , actor and director.He was included among the CNN’s “ top 25 Asian actors of all time”. He was found dead in his apartment on 10 October 1964. It was said that he used to mix alcohol and sleeping pills together and as a result of which he lost his life. It might as well have been an accidental drug overdose. Or it could be his third suicide attempt. No one knows!
