Quitting smoking is not easy, especially if you have been smoking for a long time. However, dedication to lead a healthier life can always work in your favor and make you quit smoking. Below we list some effective ways which you can try when you decide to quit smoking.

1. Stop buying cartons of cigarette

If you are addicted to smoking packs of cigarette daily, you can start by reducing the consumption of cigarette. Cut down the intake of cigarette and with time you will realize that your urge for smoking has come down.

2. Alternative to craving

When the craving for cigarettes hits you, plan some alternative thing or activity. You can go for a walk or drink a glass of water. Keep some chewing gums handy and chew these when the instinct of smoking takes over you. Alternatively, prepare a list of alternatives which you can try whenever you feel like smoking.

3. Quit when happy

Quitting smoking will be easier for you when you are in a good mood. It will be easier to quit smoking in any such situation as compared to the time when you might be under some kind of stress.


4. Think of all difficult accomplishments

You must have achieved some difficult tasks earlier in your life too. Remember those difficult days in life and you will be able to quit smoking in a much easier manner.

5. Have herbal tea

Have some herbal tea when the instinct of smoking takes over you. Alternatively keep some cinnamon flavor gums and chew these when you cannot resist smoking.
