Often the airlines charge through the roof during festival or holiday season. Most airlines don't even spare an opportunity to earn exorbitant fares in case of national calamity etc. In order to protect the interest of public, the government should stipulate maximum fare that any airline can charge for each flying sector for economy class. Recently during the Jaats reservation roar in Haryana many airlines charged upto Rs 100,000 ($1400) for a 20 minutes flight between Chandigarh and Delhi !
