One of Bollywood's budding artist, Sonakshi Sinha has won the hearts of millions following her 2010 debut with Dabangg, also starring Salman Khan. Ever since then the actress, born to Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha and wife Poonam, has been delivering some mind boggling performances at the box office.
While the actress is leaving no stones unturned to rise in her career, here are some facts about the Bollywood diva that you would have no idea about. Check them out!
• She is 16 movies old, and her first performance as Rajjo Pandey in Dabangg opposite Salman Khan got her laurels and the coveted Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
The role set up a precedent for the kind of characters she would play in her subsequent movies – Rowdy Rathore, Son of Sardaar, Joker, most of which did not do so well at the box office.

• The 2013 blockbuster Lootera was a welcome change to her previous record. The movie was based on O. Henry’s short story, The Last Leaf. It was one of her best performances where she plays an ailing daughter of an aristocrat, starring opposite Ranveer Singh.

• With several hits and misses, she decided she did not want to be perceived as the sari-clad love interest of the hero. Her 2016 movie, Naam Hai Akira was a step towards losing that image, but it did not earn as well as the Dabangg series.

• She has featured in several hit songs like Party All Night, Har Kisi Ko, and Nachan Farrate. Sinha also tried her hand at singing with the single Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai which has more than 26 million views on YouTube currently.

• Born to veteran actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha in Bihar, Sonakshi was a fashion designer before taking up acting professionally. A self-professed animal lover, she has joined PETA and is a pet parent to a dog, Kuro.

• The actress has found herself in controversies and ugly Twitter spats. She was chosen to open the May 10 Justin Bieber concert in Mumbai with her singing performance, but singers Kailash Kher and Armaan Malik tweeted against actors turning playback singers.
Malik tweeted, “Agree with @Kailashkher sir! Actors are actors & singers are singers. Leave the stage & mic to us, that’s our playground, not yours.”
Sinha replied: “A secure artist would always encourage another artist to grow their skills and follow their dreams. Art in any form should not be suppressed.”
