Hollywood mourns 'Star Wars' icon Carrie Fisher

Let’s begin the new year with a tribute to Carrie Fisher.

She was one of the first woman in Hollywood to be the face of an action hero. She started acting when she was a teenager and her legacy stretches from the golden age of Hollywood films.

Carrie Fisher shot to worldwide fame as Princess Leila in the ‘Star Wars’ series. She essayed this role with much bravery, passion and boldness. She passed away on 27th December 2016 at the age of 60 due to a heart attack she suffered.

Although she was known for her role in Star Wars, she was also a writer, script doctor, producer and a humorist. In later years, she also gained an appreciation for speaking publicly about her personal experiences with drug addiction and bipolar disorder. Her success as a scriptwriter was known and she was Hollywood industry’s most sought-after script doctor.
