How did Eazy E die?

There is an aura about rappers that musicians can never match up to! Their fast paced life with a primary focus on drugs, money, and affairs has always affected the manner in which they rap and add a touch of realism to the music.

While some played on the dominant themes, other rappers in the industry brought the focus on the harsh lives and struggles of rap stars, especially the ones who lived in a ghetto. Sadly many such rappers such as Tupac Shakur, Eazy-E, and Biggie Smalls had their lives cut short too soon owing to the hardships they had to face in their life.

Many are still flummoxed by the question that how did Eazy E die and whether it was a conspiracy against the famous rapper who was part of NWA. His sudden demise happened just weeks after the announcement that Eazy E had contracted AIDS.

Eazy-E was part of a very famous rap group called NWA that had many notable names such as Dr. Dre and Ice Cube. He was influenced by 1970s funk groups, famous contemporary rappers and also comedians.

The star had a controversial upbringing where he had to sell drugs to make a living. He was born in Compton, California; a suburb of Los Angeles which is infamous for gang activities where he went to high school but dropped out before finishing his education. It was the death of his cousin that made Easy E aka Eric Lynn Wright quit the dangerous profession and start his record label that he termed as Ruthless Records.

The most controversial album that NWA had released was called 'Straight Outta Compton, ' and the lyrics and distinctive delivery of Wright later earned him the title of the 'Godfather of Gangsta' rap.

He was riding the wave of popularity and was the height of his career when on March 17 in the year 1995, the rapper addressed the media at a Hollywood news conference to announce to the world that he had contracted AIDS. Wright was already in a critical condition during this time and was being treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Before this two other very well-known members of the African American community had contracted this disease, one was Magic Johnson and the other was Arthur Ashe.

Prior to his highly controversial death, Wright’s record label was also in troubled waters. NWA had started to fall apart, and Dr. Dre had split from the group on horrible terms with Wright. Though the official statement stated AIDs as the cause of death of Eazy E, there is a lot of evidence that point towards it being a case of cold murder.

The rumors were fueled by Suge Knight who appeared on Jimmy Kimmel show in 2003 and hinted that the easiest way to kill someone is by injecting them with infected blood of an AIDS patient which he jokingly termed as 'the Easy E way' to take a life. Not just that, Wright's pregnant girlfriend and their one-year-old son were also tested negative for the disease, further fueling rumors and conspiracy around his death.
