Sometimes the skin color of babies is neither like their father nor like their mother. In this case, the skin color of grandparents may come into the count. This is called skin of generation.

Genetic inheritance or study of hereditary to know the human behavior is a very complicated process. There are so many contradictory cases are there regarding color complexion of babies. A black color couple may produce white babies, on the other hand, a white couple has dark babies.

The skin color of babies can be determined perfectly by the presence of melanin pigment found in the skin. The formation of this melanin pigment is regulated by the genes inherits from their parents. But, the exact function of the gene is still unknown.

Sometimes environment plays a role to produce more melanin pigment. A direct sunlight creates more melanin pigment in skin & resulting dark color and the vice versa.

So the real skin color of babies can be determined by melanin pigment present in the skin and its production regulates by certain genes.
