Once downloaded, you can use these to save content from most of the free streaming videos on the internet, including YouTube, Vimeo and several more. You can also download unprotected/unencrypted videos from YouTube, Vine, Vimeo and more is using downloader websites. The various options at your disposal here include Savido, Clipconverter, Keepvid, and Videograbby. What you need to do here is that copy the link of the video that you wish to save on your device, open the downloader website that you wish to use, and paste the link. After that, you can select that format in which you wish to download the video. Moreover, if you want to download just the music of the video, you can also do it using these websites. An important point to note here is that this method does not work on websites that need you to subscribe, such as Netflix and Hulu.

VLC is perhaps the most used video player today, but it is also a hidden feature of the software that it can be used to download videos from the internet. After you have installed VLC on your system, open it and go to ‘Media’ before clicking on ‘Open Network Stream’ where you can paste the link of the video that you want to save. After clicking on ‘Play,' go to ‘Codec Information’ in the ‘Tools’ section and copy the content in the ‘Location’ box. Paste this content in the address bar in your chrome and once the video starts playing, right click on it and click on the ‘Save video as…’ option.

Believe it or not, but you can also download videos on your smartphone from many websites on the internet using one simple app. InsTube is one app that allows you to download videos from popular websites like Vimeo, Twitter, Instagram, Dailymotion, and Facebook. Free Video Downloader and HD Video Downloader are two other options that many users swear by.
