You are aware of the idea that this is just a very temporary setback and it does not need to be this way forever. What you will need to do as a parent, is to ensure that your daughter is able to understand that some treatment and restrictions that she will go through in the present times will take care of the issue in the future. How To Help Your Daughter Deal With PCOD

#1. She Is Not The Only One

The first thing to do is to explain the fact to her that she is not the only one who is going through this problem. This is not an unusual disease; many women get this syndrome and also successfully get rid of it. There will surely be someone in the school or the neighborhood who has been experiencing the same problem. It will be a great idea to make sure your daughter can interact with these girls. It will be a great idea to tell her about those people who have experienced the same problems and have emerged successful out of the same.

During such times it becomes impossible to imagine that there are people who have more difficult challenges to face in life and these are just temporary challenges. Your daughter may be feeling like the whole world has come to an end and she is facing the darkest time of her life. Being able to connect with people who are facing the same issue, will acquaint her with the fact that she is not the only one facing this challenge and it is not the end all her dreams.

Just because she has some excess amount of hair on her body and she has gained weight, does not mean she is any less than any of the other people her age. It will be impossible for her to be so optimistic at many times, in those cases, you will have to act as the cheerleader and explain the importance of not losing the moment because she is going through some minor challenges. It is very essential to make sure she understands that fact that what she will lose today will not come back ever and thus living in the now is the best possible advice you can give her.

It will be difficult for her to keep on doing things that all the other children do because she will find it hard to make peace with the challenges she is dealing with when it comes to her appearance. During the teenage, appearance is what is of prime importance and all those people who have to deal with acne problems, with weight issues are the ones who have to deal with the teasing and the taunting coming their way from all those people who are not going through these challenges.

Helping your daughter deal with PCOD is more about the kind of emotional impact PCOD has on the
daughter. For girls going through this kind of a disease it is difficult to cope with the symptoms that often
lead to challenges that have to do with weight issues and the ones related to the appearance of an
individual.
What is important to keep in mind is the fact that for a teenage girl the appearance is the most
important thing that matters to them and they will want to receive compliments for how pretty they are.
When they have to deal with the unnecessary baggage of the side effects of a disease that makes you
look worse that all the other girls of your age, it is certainly the most challenging thing any young girl will
have to face.
The best way to stand by them at this point of time is to make sure that they get to know the right way
to deal with this kind of a situation is to make sure that they understand the fact that all these challenges
that they have to go through are all very temporary and have absolutely nothing to do with determining
their future. It is very crucial for the parents to make sure that they inform their child that whatever they
are facing due to the disease will go away and not be the cause of worry for her in the future. It is the
responsibility of the parents to make sure that the daughter is strong enough emotionally and is not
finding it impossible to deal with these challenges. It is very difficult for parents to understand the fact
that having extra growth of hair on your face and gaining too much weight can be the end of the world
for young girls.
