Letting yourself believe that you are devoid of all the hope in a hopeless situation seems to be the easiest option unless you realize the fact that every problem has a solution. And how do you get to the solution? Patience and hope are the keys. When you feel like there are a lot of reasons to lose hope and very little to hold on, realize that hopelessness is nothing but hope suppressed by fear. Get rid of your fear, open the doors to your thoughts and focus on the positive, always!
Nan Jones once said, "Losing hope is like dying a slow death." Hopelessness doesn’t always restrict a person’s behavior or thought, it largely affects his actions and blesses him with the hope of everything negative that is going to happen but it is the worst thing that can happen to a person leading to drastic negative consequences. Losing hope is like having nothing to look forward to. You are not working towards achieving something anymore whilst disrespecting the value and gift of life by acting such. Life is a rollercoaster indeed with all its ups and downs and always remember that you only know that you’re going through a rough patch because you know what a high feels like! Some people lose hope to such an extent that they decide to end their life. Putting an end to the opportunities that are about to come while deciding to end life at your low, is certainly a bad idea. Hopelessness can be a dangerous thing, convincing a person that there is no good that is going to happen beyond this point, which is not just untrue but ridiculous. Have faith in God and your destiny. Have a reason to live a life, but that also doesn’t justify you ending it the right away. If you don’t have a reason, find one. Feeling like you are the victim is always easy but coming out through the battles and hardships is priceless. No matter how long and dark the night is, the morning always comes. A positive mind leads to a positive life, and hopelessness only leads you into a dark dungeon devoid of your dreams and goals.
You must have heard the saying that you must always ‘hope for the best.' But that’s not how life works. Have a plan, work hard, have faith and be hopeful! Faith and hope go hand and hand, with hope focusing on the future and faith focussing on the now. Ultimately everybody finds hope if they look for it. Believe in yourself and realize that the same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It is what you are made of! Believe in the good things that are about to happen. We all are capable of hope, but only if we seek!
#1. Do Not Underestimate What The Future Holds For You
The first and foremost thing that every person who has lost hope in his life tends to dwell upon is the false observation of the present. The present to him seems as if there is nothing worth left to look forward to. Never underestimate what the future holds for you. No matter how dark and raging the evil night can be, morning never fails to come. Pertaining to this metaphor, realize how nothing lasts forever, not even the bad times. Just like the daylight suppresses the darkness, in the end, the same way something good in your life is bound to occur after a bad experience which you should always have faith in and be hopeful for!

#2. Accept That Life Is A Rollercoaster
Life is like a rollercoaster for all, which doesn’t necessarily always go up! You cannot have all the candy and then expect not to have cavities. The same way, when you undergo a hard time, do not let yourself believe that your life has no other meaning or reason left to it anymore. If you are undergoing the feelings of loss of a friend or a family member, think about the other people that love you, care for you and need you. Losing hope will not only blind you to your opportunities but also depress your loved ones around you.

#3. Identify The Reasons For Your Failure And Believe In Yourself
If there is specifically something that is making you act this way, then focus on identifying the reasons for your failure and find a way out of it. Believe in your capabilities even if you have been let down or results fail to show up. Hard work always pays off and losing hope over a failed business investment or failure in an exam doesn’t define your capabilities. You are more than what you have failed to achieve and have a long way to go from what you have achieved. If you meet with failure in life, try to learn a lesson from it and move on. Don’t depress yourself and dwell on it as it is not going to do any good. What has been done, let it go. Move on and look at the opportunities that are waiting to be explored by you!

#4. Surround Yourself With Optimistic People
If you feel hopeless in life, avoid hanging on to people that are mere pessimists as they never have anything good to say. They don’t have a plan, or a positive outlook on their life itself and taking advice from such people will only make you feel like there is no hope, for real! Surround yourself with positive, optimistic people that emit good vibes. If you are tensed or too stressed, take on to meditation, yoga or exercising, activities that’ll help you flush out the toxins and make you feel lighter in your head. Clearing your head of all the misconceptions and negative thinking is something that must be paid a heed upon. These are the parasites that feed on your hope and positive thoughts and must get rid of, as soon as possible. This can be achieved successfully by undertaking or engaging in the above activities on a regular basis.

#5. Focus On The Good
Focussing on the good when undergoing feelings of hopelessness and depression, as concentrating on what has already been done or lost is futile and incapable of producing any results for the future. Keep moving forward and believe in your work and the fact that hard work always pays, with experience, if not always money! All that you go through in your life, especially your downfalls, make up for who you are. Everybody has problems, but some people are just better at hiding it. Focus on the good as a positive mind leads to a positive life!

#6. You Are Not Where You Are Right Now
Since it has been said that success is not always bound to stay, so are the dark times. Have a little faith and believe in what the destiny holds for you. Since you are living this gift of life, do not waste it by dwelling on negative and unwanted thoughts that are not going to take you anywhere but downhill. Your failures do not define who you are as a person and thinking that life has lost all its meaning after having undergone an inconvenience seems easy. When undergoing feelings of loss or failure, sit back and think. Learn from it and shine brighter in the future by excelling in what you failed to achieve previously.

#7. Keep Working Towards Your Goals
If you have undergone a setback in your life or business recently, do not take it as a hint that you must stop working towards your goals and accomplish your targets. Instead, have patience and work harder. Sometimes people join the gym and work hard to lose weight and as soon as they fail to see any results, they give up! Everything takes its own sweet time. Some people are just born with good genes and an even better destiny, but that gives you no reason to not work hard and achieve your own goals in life. Everybody has their own battles and no matter how easy it might seem, but nobody’s life is perfect. It is your job to make it perfect by constantly working towards what you want to achieve with dedication and perseverance. Who knows where you reach, but maybe your positive attitude during dark times and dedication towards something that might seem hard to achieve shall also inspire someone else to do something for themselves! Don’t let the positive light dim inside you, no matter what life offers you with.

#8. Have Faith
Faith and hope go hand in hand with the former focusing on the present and the latter focusing on the future. Have faith in what the destiny has in store for you and keep believing in yourself and your hard work, as it will pay one day. Having faith seems to be difficult emotionally as it promises a better future with no proof of it. But a positive thinking always leads to a positive mind. Having a positive attitude towards life can open doors to opportunities that you would have never expected. Have faith in yourself as every famous and successful person started from the bottom. Their hard work, patience, sweat and blood, all went in to give them the identity they possess and make them the person they are.

#9. Surround Yourself With Loved Ones
In a difficult unavoidable situation, surround yourself with loved ones, close friends, and family as they will always be there for you when you need them. Often, undergoing difficult times brings along the feelings of loneliness, and the brain tricks us into feeling that we are alone in this battle. But we are never alone and if you are lucky enough to have a family or a great bunch of goofballs that will be there for you at your lows, then consider yourself lucky! We often tend to dwell on what we don’t have or couldn’t achieve rather than focusing on what we still have. After strained relationship results in a breakup, people often convince themselves that they will never get into a relationship ever again. But you cannot let fear affect your life decisions as deep down, we all know that everybody is different and there are still good people left in this big bad world, then why do we tend to convince ourselves into believing in this filthy world. Be grateful for the life you have which is brimming with opportunities for you and focus on the people that are there, or always been there for you, rather than focusing on the ones that have left!
