Top 7 Movies By The 'Rockstar' Director Imtiaz Ali

Imtiaz Ali’s movies have a special trait of speaking out to a whole generation. From Socha Na Tha to Tamasha, the passionate and surreal representations whisk the audience away to a whole new world. In dealing with the concepts like identity and relationships, Imtiaz Ali, through his films, is able to reach out to a whole lot of fragmented youth.

Beginning his career in television, Ali has today attained a notable space on the silver screen.  While the audience waits for his upcoming film ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, here is a list of Imtiaz Ali films which will always be looked up to in Bollywood:-

#1. Socha Na Tha (2005): In his debut film, the director gives a unique form and shape to the concept of arranged marriages. Viren and Aditi defy the social norms throughout the film and believe in doing things on their own terms, which, of course, includes marriage. The film marks the entry of a different trend into Hindi cinema.

#5. Cocktail (2012): Cocktail was an interesting take on love, marriage, and friendship. The contrasting characters of Meera and Veronica lead us to a conflict between self-expression and morality.
