Do you ever peek into your old photos and laugh at how ridiculous you looked back then? Surely you do! Sometimes it is the weird hairdos that we considered to be super cool then and other times it is the outlandish outfits that we wore with such great pride.
So, inspired by those hilarious pictures of ours, today we bring to you the most absurd fashion trends of the past that we considered to be hip but are entirely over them now. Take a look at these below:
#1. Sagging Pants
Remember how guys used to wear jeans that started far below the waist, and often, too far below, exposing everything that shouldn’t be?! The trend which allegedly originated from US prisons as a sign of being sexually available, it became a global fashion trend in the 1990s and mid-2000s, but fortunately then went out. It wasn’t until the likes of Justin Bieber, and Liam Payne brought it back.

#2. Mullet Haircut
Watch any movie of the 70s, 80s or even 90s, and chances are you will find characters in this mind-boggling hairstyle with short hair in front and sides and long in the back. Once donned by rockstars like Rod Stewart, Michael Bolton Andy Mackay, and David Bowie, mullets reached the epitome of its popularity in the 1980s. Amusingly, people with this hairstyle are quickly doomed lesbians these days.

#3. Shoulder Pads
Shoulder pads came into fashion in the 1930s and were hugely popular until the end of the 20th century. These are fabric paddings added to create the illusion of broader shoulders, rather than sloping ones. You can notice Princess Diana wearing shoulder pads in most of her pictures. The early 2010s also saw a comeback of the trend, with stars like Rihanna and Lady Gaga flaunting these.

#4. Mom Jeans
Mom jeans used to be hugely fashionable outfit during the 80s and the 90s. This high-waist relaxed-fit denim made bums look unreasonably flat and long. Unfortunately, the trend has made a comeback with destroyed, washed and cropped variations.

#5. Neon
Neon looks fine when used in moderation. A hint of it here and there and it adds a touch of glamor to your look. But, if you were around in the 80s, then you must know that “moderation” is not a term which was frequently used at that time. People dressed from head to toe in neon clothes and it wasn’t a sight which surprised many.

#6. Fanny Packs
Perhaps a hilarious trend observed during the latter half of the 20th century was a fanny pack. People of all age groups and genders decided that it was time to stop carrying their bags on their shoulders and waist was the better option.

#7. Leg Warmers
Leg warmers were originally designed for dancers, so they could keep their muscles warm and avoid leg cramps and other injuries, but in no time were worn by females outside the dance studios as well. Soon, they were available in bold colors and design that made them look even worse. The funny thing is that there wasn’t any study which proved that the attire helped dancers. The only thing coming out of it was the funny photos that we could laugh on.
