The organization where I work is a good one as I believe it has provided me multiple benefits regarding mental satisfaction, achievements and other ways of finding or discovering myself from within.
The choice of a good career is very important when we talk about any profession, be it in the medical field, law, teaching and so on. Interest in the respective field is an important determinant of this choice. Besides the interest factor, there are other factors as well associated with one's career such as the level of complexity of a job, the demands of it, the pay scale as per the post and most importantly the organization that we are working for. There are several cases that we see when one may have changed jobs several times. It is a common issue faced by several employees and employers. Of course, there may be several reasons for it which may be logical or illogical depending on the individual circumstances.
I would certainly consider spending the rest of my career in my present company, the major reason being stability. There is a point of time in our lives when we feel tired or fed up of switching jobs, facing the same issues over and over again, and adding new uncertainties associated with the new job that we join. That is what I had been going through during a certain phase of my life when I finally discovered my passion for teaching and the Institute I joined as a lecturer, provided me an opportunity to develop my passion while sharing my knowledge with those who were in need of it. I have been working in this organization since the past five years and would like to continue in the same.
Teaching has given me immense satisfaction regarding the job. This is one profession which I feel gives one the freedom to exercise his discretion while executing the task and being able to use individual creativity and knowledge to the best of his abilities. Working in my organization has provided my an identity both for myself and the society. It has rightly answered that question on my mind,'Who am I?' This simple three-worded question has other questions embedded in it, such as, ''What is my purpose in life? What is it that I am good at? Am I capable of anything? What completes me? ''.....And so on.... The questions could keep flowing in.
My job in this organization has the answers ready. The answer is evident when I see myself being showered with the respect from my students or praise from my colleagues and superiors. It is evident when I see myself helping out my students with their doubts and queries. It is evident when I am invited for dinner to a student or a colleague's house. It is evident when I see my students come out with flying colors be it in academics or extracurriculars. This itself has given me a strong reason to carry on with my profession in this organization.
Yes, I am happy here. It is not promotional prospects that lure me nor my average drawn monthly salary that discourages me. It is stability again that beckons me every now and them to go with the flow. Another very important factor is the quality time which I can spend with my family while working in this organization as the timings are suitable for me. It starts early and ends early during the day. So I get to spend the rest of my day accomplishing other tasks as well as being home with my family. Again, I would not want to face any more uncertainties of joining a new organization. That according to me would be a risky affair.
I have blended well with my current organization and have got familiarized enough to accept its terms and conditions which are satisfactory. There may be a few minor issues which may confront me at times, but which organization does not have problems. They all do! And if the issue is manageable, then all is well. So I am proud to be a part of my organization while contributing to its goals and objectives thereby providing mutual benefits.
