An insecure boss may be too proud of his position, but his work ethics are unfair. He/she would deliberately delegate you more work than you can do or your profile calls for. They will assign you difficult targets and unachievable tasks to make sure you get in trouble. They will keep picking on your small errors. Inability in performing any of those tasks is always considered as irresponsible and unprofessional behavior on your end.
