The simple pleasures of life

It is true that life is mysterious, great and full of unexpected incidents but it is also a known fact that many of those great mysteries can be unearthed and understood through the simplest of things.

Everyday life is a conglomeration of little moments that unite together to form something so giant and magnificent that we often forget to pay attention to those little details separately.

These moments snowball into making our lives unique and brilliantly different from another’s. So it’s only fair that we squeeze every bit of happiness, sorrow, laughter and love out of it. No matter how large or how little we leave behind, one should always have remembered to have lived it and to have lived it well.

Let us see what these simple pleasures are

a. After weeks of meeting deadlines and coping up with exams and stressful assignments at school/college/university, how great is it to just wake up on a weekday and have absolutely nothing to do? Oh, it’s just blissful! You could have a long breakfast, a warm bubble bath, binge watch your favorite soaps or just stay bundled up in bed wearing your pajamas all day long! You decide.

b. Experiencing a familiar smell. It’s unbelievable how they can tuck in so much memory in them from older, good times. Could be cologne or coffee, but smells have the power to instantly make you feel ten times better, comforted and reassured than you were before.

c. It’s just the best thing to wake up and suddenly receive something in the mail, especially from one of your loved ones. It could be a simple note, a letter or a present but to just feel remembered by people who mean the world to you is altogether wonderful.

d. Also what could truly change the course of your day is finding something you thought you had lost, completely out of the blue. Like a scarf, a piece of sentimental jewelry or an old friend; the joy of a reunion is an extremely underrated one, but nevertheless very pleasant.

e. And finally, I know this could seem presumptuous but personally, I derive a lot of happiness from just witnessing certain incidents that may or may not necessarily happen to me. Like when I watch a baby smiling in his sleep or when my best friend gets a great report card or a wonderful job! Seeing people happy has the potential to lift up any dull day.
