How to deliver Presentations like a Pro?

Most public presentations turn out to be boring and flat, contrary to what its supposed to be. Delivering a competent presentation requires you to think and act like a pro. But what does it take to build those skills?

Here are 7 tips on how you can give public presentations like a pro and without any hesitation.

#1. Conversation, Not Presentation

Do not assume the entire session to be an annoying presentational task. You need to interact with the audience, deliver a positive vibe, create a buzz and make the audience pay attention. Make sure to put forward a dramatic flair. And bring in the ideas from diverse domains to keep people awake and interested.

#2. Don't Whine, Start With A Bang!

High entertainment aspects including a compelling quote or an intriguing question are the things that snatch the attention of your audience. What people remember are the beginning and the end! Make each one exceptional. Do not whimper but let there be a thrill!

#3. To The Point Preparation

It doesn't just relate to getting your presentations on point. It also includes organizing yourself as an individual. You need to analyze the type of audience that would be present in the room. Make sure you know about their expectations. Be prepared for the possible QNAs and learn the art to influence them. Prepare the gesture's you'll be using along with the expressions, movements and more. Consider several things while you are preparing yourself for a public presentation.

#4. Be Economical

We know you are more likely to include several bits of information all at once. Therefore, you must learn to distinguish between what's important and what's not and cut down all the crappy stuff. Make use of the 10-20-30 rule for slideshows. 10 slides optimally, 20 minutes explanation to those slides and 30 point font for the readers to quickly comprehend.

#5. Proper Spacing

Your job isn't only to enter the venue, present your stuff and leave. Your task is also to network with people present at the event along with cross-checking all the essentials before you start with the presentation. Of course, content is what you are there for, but checking on to the location in advance where you'll also be presenting benefits.

#6. Drop Those Filling Sounds

It’s perfectly natural to fill in those awkward silences with the every day casual words like umm, you know, like, ah, aww, etc. But during a high-pressure activity like delivering a presentation, one should just minimize the use of such fillers that make no sense at all. This trick makes you articulate when it comes to confidence and communicational skills.

#7. You Can Even Get Rid Of The PPT

No, we aren't talking about the presentation but the program PowerPoint. Look, how synonymous the two are but you don't need always to make use of it. PowerPoint is a supplementing application that enhances your performances. Don't be a sleep inducer, don't make people stare at one place. Invite everyone not to be hypnotized but to indulge in the topic by offering options like placards. Use powerpoint to illustrate key points and not as a full-fledged script.
