It is the system software which handles the hardware component of a computer and sets the foundation for application software. System software generally involves Operating System, drivers, utilities, text editors, disk formatter, and compilers to ensure an uninterrupted functioning of the computer. It is usually programmed and designed using C language.
#2. Application Software
Application software is uniquely designed to perform the specific tasks of the user’s interest. It is used for features like gaming applications, database system, or education. It is interesting to note that application software can either come in the form of one program or can be a combination of various programs.
#3. Programming Software
Another category and type of software, programming software is of utmost importance for developers and programmers. The tools which help the programmers to write a program constitute to form programming software. Programming software includes distinctive tools like debuggers, text editors, linkers, compilers, and interpreters.

Importance Of Software
You simply cannot operate a computer if it does not have a software. Every computer has system software or the operating system which provides it with a fundamental set of instructions which a computer requires for basic functioning.
