When To Take The Test

Home pregnancy tests have become far more advanced and are a lot more accurate in helping to find out the right result. The best hour of the day to take the pregnancy test is in the morning because your morning urine is highly concentrated and has a high amount of pregnancy hormone hCG also known as human chorionic gonadotropin. In the case of a blood pregnancy test, the result is positive several days before the missed period while the urine test becomes positive a few days after the blood test result. It is also important that you know your day of ovulation since implantation can happen only after ovulation and the pregnancy test shows result 4-5 days after implantation. So, keep track of your ovulation cycle as its duration decides the time of implantation and later on the pregnancy test result as well.

Is There A Thing As Taking The Test Too Early?

It is tough to keep patient when you are awaiting news so big and life altering, and that’s why many females often end up taking the pregnancy test early. The way a pregnancy test works is that it detects the amount of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in your urine which is a pregnancy hormone. The urine test requires 50 units of hCG for the test to be positive. Though, since all female pregnancies are not similar, there are those that can produce the required hCG before missing their period while others might take a bit longer.

Pregnancy Test Kits That Show Early Result

The market currently is flooded with pregnancy tests that claim that they can show result at an early stage, which is even before you miss your period. Some of these claims are correct because it all depends upon the amount of hCG you have in your system. Some women can have a high amount of hCG even before missing their period while some have to wait a little longer. So, it is advisable to go through the packaging of the product and retake the test if required.

Pregnancy Despite A Negative Result

It is important to take a few tests at an extended interval of a day or two as the hCG level goes up after every 48-72 hours. In case you are pregnant, the result will not be the same for long and you once the hCG level goes high in a few days you will get an accurate result.
