Humans are social beings. We interact with the environment to make new relationships. We encounter a lot of experiences in our daily lives and we need someone to share them with. Try abandoning yourself in a room for a whole day and you will realize how meaningless and boring the life becomes. Our friends and family fill colors in our life which is why we need them.
We need someone to share our fears, likes, dislikes, and secrets with. But we cannot trust everyone and why should we even tell other people about our lives? We all need at least one person with whom we can be who we are. To be someone we want to be without getting judged. The person who does not judge you, who will always be there for you whenever you need them, and will be the reason you feel good about yourself is your best friend. There would not be any person in this world without a best friend. A person with whom you gossip about your colleagues, a person with whom you discuss every detail of your first date, a person with whom you share your ups and downs is your best friend.
We are very selective when it comes to making friends. We mingle with people who share the same interests as us. But God has gifted us with some friends who we do not have to search for. Those friends are sent to us in our childhood who stays with us till the end no matter how many differences of opinion you have or if you think that your parent’s favor your sibling more. Those friends are our siblings. Most of us have siblings elder or younger, a brother or a sister and people who do not have siblings have cousins. We are surrounded by those friends in some way or the other. What if your sibling becomes your best friend? How would it be if your sibling is also your best friend? Your siblings are the best friend you have since your childhood. You have multiple fights and arguments every fifteen minutes but you make up every time. The beauty of this relationship cannot be measured but we will still try to show you why your sibling should be your best friend.
#1. Fights Do Not Last Long
You have unlimited fights with your siblings on every single thing from food to work but none of those fights last for long. No matter how much you try to be away from your sibling you will not be able to live without them. You start missing the moment after you both fight and pretend to not care. The best part is that they hold no grudges for you. They know you love them and they love you, families do not keep grudges in their heart for their blood. If you have a mischievous sibling then they may take revenge from you but they will never hurt you through them. Even they cannot live without you. You can have fights with your other friends and they will stay offended from you for a year but a sibling will never stay angry at you for so long.
#2. Just A Minute Away
Whenever you fight with a person who seems to be stronger than you, your sibling will always be there to protect you. Whatever problem you are in, your sibling will solve it. Just give them a call and they will always reply that they will be there with you in a minute. Your sibling will always be available for you. They can leave their important meetings if you need them. This is the beauty of having your sibling as your best friend. Some other person would not have been available for you in the middle of the night, but your sibling will always reach you at any time you call them. They will wake from their sleep just to listen to how your crush ignored you in the morning. Who does that for you? Your sibling does.
#3. Their Wardrobe Is Your Wardrobe
Perks of having your sibling is that you can share their clothes. You do not even need to ask your sibling for their clothes you can always sneak in their wardrobe and choose whatever dress you like the most. If the siblings are girls or both of them are boys then it becomes super easy to have new clothes almost every day. Even if you are a female and you have a brother you can share their caps or loose t-shirts. You get to share everything with them from clothes to food and from toys to gifts in your childhood. When you share your clothes or anything else for that matter you are sharing memories with them.
#4. Words Have No Use
The only person who will know that something is wrong with you without you even speaking about it is your sibling. They know you inside out as they have lived their childhood with you, they know what bothers you and what affects you. They know how you behave when you are upset or when you are happy. So when you are sad about something your sibling will know it before anybody else does. You cannot hide anything from them because they get to know everything about you. They know your friends and the people you stay with so if you are in some trouble they will hunt you down and they will protect you. They can read your eyes and mind so you have some sort of telepathy that helps you escape a boring event that you both are stuck in. you just have to look at them and you know what the escape plan is.
#5. Every Day Is Fun Day
Another best part about having your sibling as your best friend is that you get to live with them. We have always wanted to live with our best friends, but if your sibling is your best friend, then you are very lucky. You spend time with each other every day and every moment spent with them is fun. You have your own inside jokes, and you gossip about each other’s friends. You behave stupidly, and you act crazy around them. You can sing in front of them even if you are the worst singer in the world. Late night movie marathons or binge-watching some television series together can be the most fun because you enjoy each other’s company.
#6. Secret Bearer
Your sibling is your secret bearer. You can tell every single thing about yourself without the fear of being judged or it being told to your parents. Of course, your siblings can blackmail to reveal your secrets to your parents when they want you to do something for them, but they will not actually reveal them. You can always trust your siblings when you have lost trust in other people.
#7. Your Guide
Your sibling is not only your best friend they are your mentors, your guides. They are always there to help you whenever you need them. They advise you in times when you are unable to take a decision for yourself. You should follow their advice because they know you more than you know yourself. Your sibling will always give you the right suggestion because they want you to be happy in your life. Your success is very important for them and that is why they will never let you do something wrong. They will teach you and guide you at every point in life where you need their support.
#8. You Can Be You
When you are with your sibling, you can be who you are. You can state your opinions about anything, and you can feel anything you want to. You do not have to hide your emotions or thoughts about someone. You are free when you are with your best friend sibling. They understand you, and they know how your thought process works.
#9. Your Financer
You can always ask your siblings for favors related to money. They are the ones who lend money to you whenever you need. You can borrow any amount of money for a party or an investment. They will never refuse to help you even if they do not have enough money. They are like your personal bank from where you can borrow money anytime. Sometimes you do not even have to return it. Enjoy!
#10. Saviors From Parent’s Wrath
Your friend had thrown a party which lasted till late at night, but your parents allowed you till 9. You know you exceeded your time limit to stay out of the home, and now your parents are going to be furious, and probably they will ground you for weeks. Then your savior, the hero without a cape, your sibling, arrives to save you from your parent’s wrath. They do not let your parents know that you were out for long or they will do something to distract your parents so that you do not get reprimanded. When you get hurt your sibling gets hurt, and hence they will do everything to save you.
