Schools play one of the most important role in child's development. While they focus squarely on academics and sports but there seems to little or no effort to shape kids into a better human being. There is no deliberate effort to make them more compassionate person. Helping others and volunteer activities should be integral part of school's curriculum and these activities should be give similar relevance as academics. For kids overall development, is remembering names and dates from history more important than voluntary activities to help others.
