Best food to eat in Karnataka.

I am taking you on a culinary trip around Karnataka.

Mysore

Mysore masala dosa, Mysore Bonda and Mysore Pak, Medu vada, Maddur vade are the famous recipes of Mysore.

Mysore masala dosa is unique with red chutney and potato masala wrapped inside.
Maddur vade are crispy delights. Maddur vade is made up of a mixture of flours, onions and green chilies.
Mandya mudde with Upsaru is a very nutritious recipe. Mandya mudde are ragi balls. Upsaru is like soup with green vegetables and sprouts.

Mangalore

Mangalore buns are close to puri. They aren't buns. It is a sweet puri with bananas in the dough.

Neer dose, are crepe-like dosas. It is made up of rice and coconut, grounded together. It is cooked on a griddle. These dosas are super white and soft. You can spice up this dosa with any curry.

Udupi hayagreeva maddi. This is a sweet delicacy of Udupi. This sweet is made up of jaggery, dal and coconut. There is a story behind this. A goldsmith kept on crafting a Ganesha head. But every time, he tried ended up in crafting a horse. He got disgusted and threw it away. Lord Hayagreeva, the horse incarnation of Vishnu appeared in Vadiraja's dream. The lord asked him to pick up the discarded figure and worship it. The Hayagreeva Maddi, was then prepared and served to the lord.

North Karnataka

Belgaum

Belgaum Kunda is very famous. Belgaum is one of the largest sugarcane producers in our country. Kunda is made up of milk, khoya and sugar.

Bellari mandakki

Dharwad Peda 

A Thakur family from U.P is known to have introduced this sweet dish in Dharwad. This peda has the caramel flavor. It is a must buy when you visit Dharwad.Benne dosa is a dosa cooked with lashings of white butter. It is served with butter on the side.
