Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger, known as one of the greatest bodybuilders, is an Austrian-American actor and a producer who gained worldwide fame as a Hollywood action icon with his revolutionary movies like Conan the Barbarian which released in 1982.

#1. Commando

A retired special agent, John Matrix lives in a mountain home with his daughter. He’s been forced to be a part of a South American Revolution to rescue his daughter from the kidnappers. Just like any other movies of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he takes on the entire army by himself and treats the rocket launchers like little toys. The barrel chested hero does not even get a scratch while the enemy is dead as a dodo. Released in 1985, this was one was a block buster.

#2. Last Action Hero

Known for his action, Schwarzenegger did complete justice to this insanely awesome movie and well with a director like John McTiernan and an actor like himself why wouldn’t the movie be a super hit. The audience largely appreciated the movie but critics had different views.

#3. Twins

With his track record of action packed movies, this one came as a refreshing change. The handsome hunk can not only tackle 1000 enemies but can tickle the viewer’s funny bones too. His timings with Danny DeVito were hysterical. Both the actors played twins, created through a genetic experiment on a quest to find their mother.

#4. Total Recall

Arnold who plays a construction worker in this one starts having these crazy dreams about a woman on Mars. Finally, he decides to get some memories from the outer space vacation implanted into his brain. This leads to a series of fun-filled events. The Mars woman was none other than Sharon Stone.

#5. True Lies

This was another fun movie. Directed by James Cameron, it was surprisingly not as ambitious as his other projects. No computer graphics, no aliens or any other giant creatures, this was simply a story revolving around a special agent disguised as a computer salesman. His bored wife has an affair before she gets drenched into an international criminal plot. It is at this time that she realizes her husband’s real identity.

#6. The Terminator

The character played by Schwarzenegger was initially planned for O.J. Simpson. But James Cameron didn’t find the idea very convincing and hence offered the role to Schwarzenegger, the real terminator. The story doesn’t end here, Arnold too was requested to take up this role and work with a first time director. It was pure luck that he agreed because, after this movie, rest everything just became history.

#7. Predator

John McTiernan directed the original Predator. It was an alien movie where a deadly alien stalked a group of soldiers. The movie was a hit, but the sequels didn’t do much justice.
