China Nursery Blast: 8 Dead in Jiangsu Explosion

A Kindergarten in East China’s Fengzian County became the latest site of terror as a blast rocked the entrance of the school in the evening on Thursday, claiming lives of eight and injuring over 60. Following the attack, the Chinese police have narrowed down on a suspect who may be the mastermind of the attack.

The blast occurred in the evening around 4:30 PM when the parents were coming in to pick their children from play-school. Since the gates were not open, parents were queuing up outside the school premises for their children.

As the blast occurred outside the school ground, none of the teachers and children were injured in the blast. However, the massive explosion caused serious injuries to others near the site and it is believed eight of them are critical. A team of senior doctors from Nanjing and Wuxi cities of Jiangsu is administering treatment to the injured.

Terming it as a ‘criminal offense’, the Chinese Police have targeted the suspect but are not revealing any further details about the suspect till there are confirmed reports. While the police are investigating the matter, a special team headed by Huang Ming, deputy minister of public security has reached the site of the blast to examine the crime scene.
