Cyclone Mora has hit Bangladesh and is going to move towards the north-east part of India. The quick action taken by Bangladeshi authorities resulted in the evacuation of 300,000 people from low-lying coastal regions, who were kept in makeshift shelters, schools and government offices. Heavy rainfall and wind gusting at the speed of 117 kilometers per hour have claimed the lives of 180 people in Sri Lanka and affected half a million people. The cyclone originated in the island after heavy rain falls and caused a landslide.Here are 10 pictures which showcase the situation in the places that were affected by Cyclone Mora.

Saint Martin's island in the Bay Of Bengal has suffered a huge blow with nearly 70% of homes devastated in the wake of the cyclone.

The storm is likely to affect the north-eastern part of India; Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal. These areas would be seeing a very heavy rainfall and have already been alerted to the situation by the Meteorological Department. Myanmar is another country which would be affected by this cyclone.
