After having landed an interview in the company of your choice, for the position that fits your interests the best, you don’t want to make mistakes or serve wrong answers which could jeopardize your chances of getting selected. At the same time, the interviewer will try to ask you as many questions as possible so they can squeeze out all the information they need to decide whether you are fit for the job profile or not.
Though most of those inquiries are easy to answer, the one question that most interviewees dread is “why should we hire you.” Some would also say that this is the most important part of the interview, where just one wrong answer can kill all your chances of making it through. If you are also looking for your dream job and get nervous whenever an employer asks why they should hire you, then this article is for you. When answering the question, the following things should be kept in mind:
#1. Keep it Concise
First of all, make sure your answer is concise; it should be a one-minute long answer, two at the most. Anything above that and the interviewer will start to lose interest in what you are saying or most probably forget most of what you blabbed.

#2. Focus On Your Unique Qualities
You have to realize the fact that you are not the only person who has been considered for the job. Perhaps dozens of other candidates came for the interview before you and dozens would follow. So, to get selected, you must convey to the interviewer how you stand out among all the other prospects. So, if you have one or two qualities that you believe are hard to find in most people, highlight those in your answer.

#3. Answer Only Two Things
While you do want to keep your answer concise, you also need to take care of precision at the same time. With your reply, you want to convey to the employers that you know what they are looking for in a candidate to fill that position and how you are suitable to fill it. So, what your reply must have is the answer to is what is required for the job and what you have to offer.

#4. Be Confident
Confidence can be your key to success here. Whatever your answer may be, deliver it with confidence because if you are not confident about why you should be hired for the job, how can you even think about persuading the employer with the answer? Furthermore, in many cases, companies are not looking for the specific answer or the right answer, but the way it is delivered to them.

#5. Nothing Personal
You might as well stand up and walk out the room yourself before you bring in anything personal in an interview. An employer does not want to hear how desperately you need a job or how this job would be perfect for you, tell them how your skills and experience make you ideal for the job.

#6. Sell Yourself
When the question is asked, the interviewers have already gone through your CV/resume several times, asked nearly everything relevant and are perhaps giving you the last chance to show them what makes you the right candidate. So, consider it a sales pitch and sell yourself the best way you can.
