Reliance has come up with its Jio services which have taken telecom industry by surprise.
No one expected Mukesh Ambani to offer 4 G Voice and Data Services for free. This has not only impacted the financial fortunes of Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea but has also led to making India Digital in the true sense.
As Indians, we are used to pathetic low internet speeds and never visualized the difference, a fast and reliable internet service can make in our lives. Reliance has not only broken this myth but has introduced free internet on trial basis until March 31, 2017.
Most of the telecom companies were taking the users for a ride since long with their costly data plans. Reliance has given a severe jolt to all telecom operators and they were forced to come up with cheaper plans which ultimately benefited customers.
Reliance has also promised to keeps the data rates extremely low with Rs 50 for 1 GB 4G internet after March 31st, 2016. This is a welcome move as other companies will also have to come up with matching data and voice call plans to counter Reliance.
The beneficiary will be customer in this case since they will get reliable internet speed at affordable costs. Internet is free in most of the developed countries and by making this move , Reliance has taken the first step in making India internet savvy.
