Leading telecom operators are fighting over broadband speeds and data published by Telecom regulatory Authority of India has shown that Reliance Jio is topping the chart. As per the communication from Trai, Reliance Jio is offering more than double the download speed as offered by its competitors Idea Cellular and Airtel.
Data released by Trai shows that the download speed of Jio has marginally declined from 17.42 mbps to 16.48 mbps in January but the network is still the fastest when compared to all its competitors. These numbers can best be understood from the assumption that a movie can be downloaded in less than one minute.

Noticeably, the download speeds of some other networks including Vodafone and BSNL have fallen marginally during this period. It is not as if the competitors of Jio have accepted their defeat when it comes to data speeds. Airtel has conducted a speed test through a private company Ookla and claims that it is the fastest network officially. Reliance has contested this claim and the battle of the download speeds is likely to intensify in the coming days and weeks. The customer however will be the biggest winner in this bargain as he never expected things to come to this level.
