If you have the ability to dream while awake, then it means you have the rare ability of lucid dreaming. In lucid dreams, you have a conscious power to navigate the narrative of your dream and make the plot whatever you want it to be.
No, this isn’t some crazy sci-fi movie concept. It is just how wonderful lucid dreaming is. Needless to say, not everyone has the ability to control their dreams.
However, if you’re not born with the innate ability of lucid dreaming that doesn’t mean you can’t master the art. There are several ways in which you can experience lucid dreams and we discuss some of them. Take a look:
Remembering Dreams
Okay, so the first step that you can take in experiencing lucid dreams is by remembering your ordinary dreams. It happens so many times that we see a wonderful dream, but somehow forget it when we wake up. Remembering your dreams is very crucial as it helps in keeping your brain engaged to the dream. This way, you’ll neither come out of your dream easily nor will you forget it. If you try and focus on your dreams, you can then have the ability to slowly take control of things in it. It is all about prepping up your brain after all.

Write Down Dreams
Okay, so now that you’ve started remembering your dreams, why don’t you jot it down in your ‘Dream's journal?’ Look for any similarities. See if there are particular places or people or plot-lines that you often dream of. This way, you can know how your brain functions and in turn, you would have a better idea of your inner self. Knowing who you are is absolutely crucial in experiencing lucid dreams. After all, you have to tell your brain as to how the real you would react in the dreamland you. Crazy right?

Look For Signs
If the message didn’t come across in the previous point, here is an elaborate explanation for it: See for similarities across your dreams after you note all of them down. See if there are certain places that you regularly see or certain people that you regularly meet in your dreams. You’re bound to find many commonalities in your dreams and this way, you know that once you have a dream sign in your next dream, you’ve been there before.

Be Aware Of The World’s Realms
Remember that to be conscious in your dreams means that you’re conscious in the real life as well. Yes, that might sound crazy but that is how it is. However, the accurate term here is to be ‘consciously focused.’ Just like while learning a new skill, you are constantly focused; you have to be the same in your dreams. Having said that, you have to have a know-how of your ‘actual’ surroundings too. Because, if you lose track of the reality, it would mean that you are experiencing an ordinary dream. So, try to focus on the reality along the margins of your dream. This is perhaps the toughest thing that you have to learn and will certainly take some amount of practice.

So, there you have it. Lucid dreaming is absolutely wonderful. Remember that if you are losing track or control of your dream, just think that your mind is spinning. This way, you will not lose control over your dream. Happy Dreaming!
