OnePlus 5 Launched: Features, Specifications & All The Details You Need To Know

Forget Samsung S8 and HTC U11, the Chinese Company has re-entered the sphere of competition with the launch of its new model, OnePlus 5. After a long wait to determine the new features of one of the most awaited phones of the industry, the company has unveiled its new product. 

Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, the phone offers optimum specifications that will definitely add the device to a tech savvy’s list of favorites. It offers 8GB RAM, runs the latest Android OS and offers a dual camera setup, among a plethora of other features.

The opening price of the phone is valued at $479 in the US, a notch higher from the costs of the predecessors sold by the company. However, it’s the key features of the phone that make it worth the price. Let us tell you about it in detail:

#1. Appearance

True to its tradition, OnePlus 5 has a metal black design like the older versions. However, it’s also available in midnight black and slate gray colors. The dimensions of the phone are as follows: it is 154mm tall, 7.25mm thick and weighs just 153g, which makes it the lightest among all Android flagship phones available in the market.

There’s not much change in the display. The OnePlus 5 flaunts a 5.5 inch AMOLED display supporting sRGB and DCI-P3 color standards, and is protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5 but retains the same old resolution of 1920X1080 as before. 

#3. The Real Matter

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 installed inside the Oneplus 5 offers up to 8GB RAM in the 128GB variant and 6GB RAM in the 64GB variant. However, there is no slot for memory card, just like its predecessors. Thus, the space provided by the company is all you have to store data on the phone.

The new Oneplus 5 runs on the latest 7.1.1 version of Android Nougat. However, it offers more minimalistic looking OxygenOS.

#5. Dual Camera

The club of dual camera welcomes its new entry! Featuring a dual camera set, the phone offers a 16-megapixel primary camera with an aperture of f/1.7 without optical image stabilization. It has been merged with a 20megapixel camera that can deliver up to 2x optical zoom and an addition 8x of digital zoom.
