Have you ever wondered that your dog might get stressed too? He doesn’t have any deadlines, no bills to pay, no exams to write; then what in this world can stress him out?
As dog parents, we all have loved them immensely, but sometimes we forget to attend to their needs and that stresses them out.
But not to worry because dogs never shy away from showing their emotions. A stressed dog will make sure of showing the stress signs and ask for your help to calm him down. Here are a few signs that your dog is stressed out:
#1. They Start Avoiding
A stressed dog will resist being as sociable as he usually is. He might tend to avoid other dogs or people. They show their indifference by avoiding eye contact, tucking their tails or by completely turning away.

#2. Licking Of Nose And Lips
Isn’t licking what dogs are meant to do? Surprised right? Well, constant licking of the nose and lips accompanied by other traits could be his way to tell you that life is not treating him well after all.

#3. Holding Back Of The Ears
Yes, dogs tend to pin back their ears when they are stressed. Every breed has a different set of ears; they might be hanging low or standing straight. It sounds like a different trait to figure out, but is pretty apparent in most cases.

#4. Shedding Of Excessive Hair
Shedding of excessive hair might be a monsoon thing for humans, but dogs shed them when they are stressed. One might be easily able to trace the shedding when they hold the dog and the hand fills with his hair, or the floor gets covered with his tiny little strands.

Once you are able to recognize that your dog is stressed, it's time that you set things in place again. Luckily enough their stress is not related to work pressure or financial instability, all they need is some extra love and affection.
#1. Avoid Stressful Situations
Every dog might have their own issues, some do not like travelling and others are afraid of crowded streets. If you know what makes your dog uncomfortable then try to avoid putting him in such situations. For instance, if your dog is not much of a traveller then make sure you find a neighbor or a friend who can keep him until you come back home.

#2. Set A Routine
Just like your little ones, your dogs too, need a fixed routine. A routine that defines their eating time, walk hours and bed time, will help them in staying stress free. A haphazard routine will confuse their mind causing unwanted stress.

Your dog needs you and your affection more than anything else. Your packed schedules might be keeping you busy, but you need to make sure of taking out some time for him. We all have a special relationship with our dogs and it is important to invest enough time and care into it to keep it going.
