Writing is a gifted art and proudly we can say that all writers are highly blessed to have this profound talent of putting one’s thoughts into words. It is definitely a blessing and if the world accepts and acclaims, it is a great honor to the author and the publisher.
A bestseller book not only fetches money, but also name and fame, which is what writers would prefer as their credibility gets enhanced.
There are various steps involved starting from writing to publishing. Let us take a look at them one by one:
1. The very first step would, of course, be writing. But before that, we need to categorize the book. The genre of the book decides on the target audience which can be little children, youth or old people, etc.
2. Once the writing is done, the next step would be editing the book, which ranges from checking grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, proper punctuations to any controversial remarks made by the author that would end up in a scandal to both the writer and the publisher.
To avoid any trouble in the future, an experienced, well versed, trust worthy, honest editor could be hired to check out the contents.
3. Now that our book is ready, the next step would be to find a good reasonable publisher. If it is self-publishing it is well and good, but it is not that all writers are financially sound.
4. Before finding the publisher, we need to look out for agents, who would help us in finding the publisher, especially if the writer is new to the field.
5. With the agent’s guidance, we need to shortlist the publishers and send them the copy of the book. It would take roughly more than couple of month’s time for the publisher to review the book.
6. Our book has been published and the last step articulates with our first step of deciding on the readers based on the category. We need to market the product accordingly so that it reaches our target people.
