Unfortunately, the modern world is becoming sedentary.
Sitting for the long period can be bad for your health. It will give a bad impact on our metabolic rate. It may also lead to obesity, diabetes, depression, or cancer. People who sit a lot are more vulnerable to heart attack. It will cause unhealthy fats in the body. It is advisable to exercise in between.
Standing increases energy. It helps in toning muscles and boosts our blood circulation, metabolism and posture. But at times, we should sit. We should not stand all the time. Simply standing is not at all a substitute for exercise. But it is better than sitting and reduce the risk of death.

Sitting position may cause pain in your spine, hips and knees as you are putting too much of pressure there. You may also get neck pain, due to bad posture.
Low blood flow caused by sitting may cause low happy hormones. This may cause depression. Sitting causes your abdominal contents to compress and may cause sluggish digestion. Your brain will get less oxygen while sitting and will slow down. Lack of activity will cause osteoporosis. Sitting causes premature death.
Stand in a bus.
Take the stairs.
Stand while on the phone.
Take a break from work every one hour.
Do housework.
If you spend your entire day sitting and exercise for one hour, this will not reduce the effects of sitting completely. So, get up and move every thirty minutes. Do not be a couch potato. Stay healthy!
