While some nations score well on the female safety criteria, others still need to go a long way to provide a safer environment for its female population. Mexico has an alarming number of cases of women disappearing and getting murdered. The legal system of Mexico does not give much consideration to the protection of the victim from sexual violence. This ultimately resulted in a reduction in the number of women who reported sexual violence.
