The US Treasury Department has designated the head recruiter of Islamic State Group in the Indian Territory a global terrorist. The Department has also released a list of his aliases.
Mohammad Shafi Armar who uses the name Yousuf- al- Hindi on social media, is liable for sprouting numerous ISIS-affiliated groups in India. He is said to have maintained a social network of more than 600 Indian youngsters on media like Whatsapp and Skype. One of his major ISIS-affiliated groups includes Junood al Khaleefa e Hind, which has recruited over fifty Indians. Armar is also said to have close links with IS Chief Abu Bakr-al-Baghdadi.
