The former King of Good Times may have lost all his money but he certainly has not lost his smugness. The Chief, of Kingfisher Airlines which slumped and lost all its business, has a loan of over Rs. 9,000 crores on him. The former business tycoon had evaded authorities and was living in exile in Britain since 2016.
Vijay Mallya very defiantly mocked the reporters outside the court in the UK by shouting "keep dreaming about billions of pounds”. His attitude is a clear indication that not only does he have no plans to cough up the amount but also feels he is not subjected to laws made for regular citizens. The UK court will be hearing India’s plea to bring back the fugitive and put him on trial though the shoddy handling of the case by CBI has created a dearth of evidence.

The businessman who was famous for his flamboyant lifestyle is on conditional bail until December 4 and the present lack of evidence may push the full hearing to April 2018.
Mr. Mallya refused to answers questions and suggested that his getting heckled at the recent India-South Africa Champions Trophy by certain fans who booed at him is a far greater issue than his absconding with billions. He asked for physical barriers to keep the media at a distance for his next hearing.
