Apple vs. Microsoft argument would never be getting old. It is absolutely safe to say that both the technology moguls have enough room for their enterprises. 

But, what about the figures of Apple and Microsoft's revenue and profit system? What exactly are Microsoft and Apple's marketing policy/ strategy? Are the companies competing on the basis of consumer popularity or entrepreneurial defeats? Let's find out.

The world's largest technology companies dominate the entire tech market around the globe. Apple is clearly better and bigger than Microsoft in terms of growth, value, financial power and future prospects. And Apple's worth is much more than Microsoft and Google combined. Apple is doing extremely well and is worth three-quarters of a trillion dollars. Yes, Apple has a net worth of about $750 billion. Whereas, Microsoft Corporation's real net worth is about $349.89 Billion.

All thanks to the ever-growing smart phone market that Apple has been on it's transcending profit graph. Apple accumulates around $216 billion in investments as well as cash. The amount is almost twice what Microsoft at $114 billion holds. However, both the companies have long-term debts - Apple at $53.2 billion vs. Microsoft at $40.7 billion.

As far as the revenues are concerned, Apple remains quite helpful and friendly with their investors, which ultimately raises the expectation bar. Trying to meet such expectations might leave the company in awkward situations. Hence, their quarterly earning reached a mere 1.6%. On the other side is Microsoft, whose analysts merely expect anything from the company making it reach the 1.9% revenue forecasts and 9.9% quarterly profit targets. Bill Gates the owner of Microsoft has his personal property (Xanadu 2.0) worth $125 million.

Apple Marketing Policy vs. Microsoft Marketing Policy

Both the companies are quite successful in their respective areas. Not only have they applied various marketing strategies for achieving a favorable record but have also at times stolen from each other's books. 

For instance, both the tech companies work on the principle of inclusivity and exclusivity. Microsoft targets to get Windows upgrade on as many devices as possible whereas Apple has been following the rule of offering exclusive products. Apple is proficient in offering high-end powerful devices whereas Microsoft is diversified from entry level to premium ranges. There's an open ecosystem revolving around Microsoft's policies which may create some sort of a confusion around maintenance and security. But exclusive ecosystem of Apple may also cause limitations concerning business reliability and innovation.

Marketing strategies of Microsoft vs. marketing strategies of Apple can definitely keep changing, but never can the battle subdue.

It was not long before that Microsoft adopted an approach similar to that of Apple. Microsoft developed a premium range of devices. Similarly, even Apple has been observed fostering the approaches like that of Microsoft. Apple expanded from its minimalistic approach to offering a wider range of budget-friendly devices. Both of their strategies seem to be converging.

Apple was the first-ever company to prioritize performance and style for its customers. Public responded really well and consumer popularity is how Apple overtook Microsoft. It was and till now is the brand of increasing status symbol. Microsoft did face its fair share of criticism but didn't stop and improved its goodwill. It made the consumers embrace new standards of computing. Acknowledging those failures with the promise to further innovation has been their ultimate goals.
