June 20th is marked as the World Refugee Day by the UN Refugee Agency. This day is dedicated to the refugees all over the world, who are haunted down by the war and are left with no other option but to seek refuge in another country. The main intent behind celebrating World Refugee Day is to create a sense of mass awareness about the hardships faced by refugees.
Talking about refugees, the Secretary-General of United Nations, António Guterres, in an interview said, "I’ve met so many who have lost so much. But they never lose their dreams for their children or their desire to better our world. They ask for little in return – only our support in their time of greatest need."
As mentioned on the UN's official website- "On World Refugee Day, we commemorate the strength, courage, and perseverance of millions of refugees. This year, World Refugee Day also marks a key moment for the public to show support for families forced to flee."
