There is no denying to the fact that we all have secrets. It is also quite likely for your secrets to come out at any point in time. While in a relationship, if secrets are held for quite a long period, they can cause some major trouble for you and your partner. You may even end up losing your partner’s trust.
This, however, does not mean that you should let your past haunt you forever. If it's having an impact on your relationship, it is only appropriate to come clean and confess. Interestingly, it may even revamp your relationship. Here is how confessions make relationships stronger.
#1. Trust Building
Surprisingly, confessing a secret may make more room for trust in your relationship as you unconsciously convey the message that you are not keeping any more secrets. While your partner hears it from no one but you, he or she may begin seeing you in a positive light. Your partner may become more secure with the idea that you are not willing to keep secrets in the relationship.

#2. Acceptance
Confession can make your relationship stronger in various possible ways. Besides enriching your relationship with trust, revealing secrets can also work to generate a sense of acceptance in your relationship, which is of utmost significance in a relationship. Now, that you have revealed all your secrets, your partner gets well-placed with your past and may begin to accept you for who you are.

#3. Coming Clean Feels Great
While you were carrying the heaps of secrets, you may find it difficult to deal with your relationship. However, coming clean does not only bring you a sigh of relief, it also drives you to put in maximum efforts in your relationship. As you no longer have to deal with the stress of secrets, all you need to do is give your partner some time and start it all afresh thereafter.

#4. Not All Secrets Are Bad
Well, not every secret can put your relationship to an end. Depending upon the kind of secret, confessions may really turn out to make your relationship stronger. Your partner may even help you overcome the stress that you have been going through due to your secret. For instance, if you have kept an addiction a secret from your partner, coming clean may help you to a great extent. Not only do you get comfortable around your partner, you may even get some help to deal with the issue that you have been holding up for so long.

#5. You Know Each Other Better
Confession may work in the form of two-way traffic. While your partner has now a lot better understanding of you, it also helps you to know your partner better. You are now better placed with how your partner is likely to react in a particular situation and how accepting or forgiving he or she is.
