I am currently working in a start up from 1.5 years including 6 months training period. I have two months of notice period of two months. I got a job offer from an MNC which I accepted. MNC is not demanding any experience or relieving certificate. Some of my friends in other organisations also got the same job. They didn't serve their notice period and left to join within 1 week. But I talked with my current employer. He told me to stay for one month after that he will give me experience and relieving certificate and I accepted and postponed my date of joining in MNC. Now my friends are laughing on me for such poor decision. They are saying that I should have left immediately. But personally I think relieving and experience certificate are necessary. I may need them at any point of life. Did I take wrong decision? What If my employer refuses to give letters even after 1 month? I am in great depression.

Answer

Don't worry about this. Some organizations require experience letter / relieving letter, but not all. It is a really good thing that your notice period has been shortened. If, for some reason, your employer doesn't give you these documents, you can always just show your new employers your most recent payslips. However, be wary of this. If you are yet to negotiate your compensation, the payslips may not be a very good idea.

Else, just create a LinkedIn acc. It lends you more credibility.
