For me, Sony headphones work the best! They are sturdy and give great sound quality at a good price. I would choose Sony over any other brand.
Don't forget to take a look at the Sennheiser MX 170. These are quality earphones from a famed company. Apart from a great sound, the biggest plus point is that they retail for around Rs. 600 in India, which I believe is quite reasonable.

Dr. Dre will cost you a fortune; no doubt. Sony headphones are a great option if you are looking for quality sound without digging a hole in your pocket.
