Having a baby completes your family. But what if you cannot conceive? Will that leave your family incomplete? While some look up to adoption in such cases, surrogacy is also becoming a growing trend with many opting for the procedure to welcome their little bundle of joy.

Hollywood has been a warm host to this trend as celebrities are welcoming this new method with open arms. Here are some famous personalities who have used surrogacy to expand their families:

Sarah Jessica Parker

After giving birth to their son James Wilke, Hollywood actress Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Mathew wanted to expand their family. But since they developed issues in getting pregnant, they looked up to surrogacy as a mean to grow. Although the couple was blessed with twins Marion and Tabitha in 2009, many don’t know that the surrogate mother’s details were leaked while she was carrying their twins. This resulted in the lady’s invasion of privacy, with many stalking the woman.

After adopting two children with ex-husband Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman gave birth to a daughter in 2008 with her second husband, Keith Urban. However, in 2010 the couple welcomed their daughter Faith via surrogacy. Recently, the actress arranged a meeting to introduce her daughter Faith to her ‘other mother’ whose nickname is ‘Aunty Sheila.'

Elton John

One of Britain’s richest stars, Elton John and his partner David Furnish wanted to begin their family and chose the same surrogate mother to deliver both the babies. In exchange of that, the celebrity couple paid a whopping amount of £17,340 and £20,000 to the unnamed surrogate mother who gave birth to their sons Zachary and Elijah respectively.

‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris and partner David Burtka welcomed their twins Gideon and Harper via surrogacy. Since both of them wanted to become biological fathers, the couple decided to become sperm donors and infused their sperm into the two eggs of the surrogate mother to try their luck. To their surprise, both fertilized and the surrogate mother gave birth to fraternal twins.

Since the couple’s embryos weren’t strong, the chances of fertilization were bleak. But luck was on their side, and they were blessed with a beautiful miracle, a baby girl who was later named Esme.

In 2016, the actress took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the news about the arrival of her son York, via surrogacy and thanked the angelic woman who nurtured the star’s son in her womb.

Pop star Michael Jackson, known for his moonwalk, was blessed with three children, all via surrogacy. While surrogate mother Debbie Rowe conceived Prince and Paris, Blanket was conceived by another surrogate mother, Helena. It is believed that Debbie Rowe had developed complications while expecting Paris; hence she could not conceive the third child. It was then, the thriller singer selected the Mexican nurse as the surrogate and paid $20000 for the same.
