Bhagwant Maan, the face of Aam Aadmi Party in Lok Sabha has given a valuable suggestion to the party. He said that it is not correct for the party leadership to blame Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the loss. Quoting his example, Bhagwant Maan said he won by a maximum margin in 2014 Lok Sabha but never blamed EVM.
He said that the fault for the loss can be attributed to ticket distribution as the choice of candidates was wrong. Blaming the loss on EVM will only widen the gap between people and the party, Bhagwant Mann observed.
Though it is right what Maan is saying but the fact of the matter is that the state unit in Punjab is looking for strengthening its position, post the humiliating defeat it suffered. There was some news of break up in the Punjab unit which Kejriwal denies but after the loss, many leaders are looking for a suitable opportunity to switch sides and many wish to be associated with BJP since they realize that association with BJP will help them in the long run.
Such statements, therefore, should be seen in the light of these developments but as Bhagwant Maan observed linking the loss to defect in EVM is not the correct thing to do.
