13 Benefits Of Sleeping Naked Nobody Ever Told You

Let’s be honest, we have all fantasized about sleeping naked sometime or the other. It makes you feel good and you have a great night sleep just being in your skin without any layers of clothes. Sleeping naked though is more than just about comfort; it can actually be beneficial for your health and can help you sink into a more relaxing slumber. If you are really fond of going to bed in just your birthday suit, there is more than one reason why you should make it an everyday practice:

#1. Better sleep

Sleeping without clothes can actually help you get better sleep. This is actually a scientific fact as being nude helps your body to regulate your temperature better. When you are stuffed between tight underpants, night suits, and sheets, it makes you feel warmer and also uncomfortable. This can also affect the normal drop in temperature that happens when you fall asleep.

#2. Shed excess weight

Sleeping naked in bed can make you lose the extra kilos. When you sleep, your body goes into healing mode but layering yourself with clothes and heating up your body can rather put it in panic mode. This makes the body pile up excess weight instead of burning it down. So, just removing the excessive clothing can actually help you shed the unnecessary pounds.

#3. Regulate your cortisol

Sleeping carefree without being bundled in clothes can also keep your cortisol in check. When your body temperature rises at night, your cortisol levels stay high even in the morning. Instead, if you sleep naked, your body temperature remains normal and your body produces a regular amount of cortisol.

#4. Balance melatonin and growth hormone

Melatonin is a growth hormone made by the pineal gland. It regulates the sleep-wake cycle and when you sleep in a temperature that is below 70 degrees (F), it can regulate the production of melatonin by the body. This also boosts the production of growth hormones required to stay healthy.

#5. Slows down aging

Your body repairs itself during the night and cell repair can slow down the aging process by preventing your skin from developing wrinkles, spots, and skin lesions.

#6. Less laundry work

Night clothes mean a lot more dirty laundry that keeps piling up every single day. Sleeping naked means no going out and shopping for night suits and also a significant number of fewer clothes to wear.

#7. Feel good factor

Even the idea of lying naked on bed feels wonderful, it is deeply relaxing and makes one feel very happy. No bra wiring digging into your flesh, no constricting underpants, just absolute freedom. Your body can actually breathe and relax; something it is denied the entire day.

#8. Getting ready is easier

When we come back from work every day, we generally slip into a comfortable night suit and the rest of the evening is completely devoid of any social interaction. Instead, if you stay sans clothes in the evening, you will find it easier to go out.

#9. Better intimacy

If you are living in with your partner or are married, sleeping naked with each other can actually be a very intimate experience. Skin-on-skin contact is a great feel good factor and leads to better cuddles. This can also help you and your partner lurk in the "special mood" and spice up your life. It also leads to the production of oxytocin which is also called ‘the love hormone’. This hormone has a huge psychological effect in making a strong bond with each other.

#10. Better skin

We often hear people complain of darker armpits and other areas that don’t get to breathe freely. This happens because your skin gets suffocated throughout the day in multiple layers of clothes. So it’s important to let your skin feel refreshed and that can be done by ditching clothes at night.

#11. No fungal infections

The itch down there is a nightmare for all. Tight underwear and pajamas can actually cause strap itch and other fungal infections. Instead, if your privates are kept cool, dry and get ‘aired’ at night, there won’t be any infection and absolutely no chance of them overheating.

#12. Healthier private organs

Sleeping naked can help men keep their crown jewel healthy. When your private organs are overheated it kills sperm count and that’s not good for your  life and kills your chances at procreation.

#13. Summer gets more bearable

Sleeping during summers can be a huge problem. Yes, you do feel lazy but once you are in the sheets, you find your bedroom stuffy, the a/c either makes the room too cool and switching it off makes it unbearable. So, the only logical solution is take off the clothes and sleep in sweet slumber.
