How to draft your resignation letter

So you have finally decided to hang your boots? In private sector, it is always important to keep shifting companies so as to grow and rise.

Equally important is to learn the art of drafting resignation letters as the world around you is very small, and you never know when you bounce again into the same person.

Some points to keep in mind while drafting a resignation letter

1.    Friendly opening

Always start the resignation letter in a friendly tone. Thank the management for the efforts they had made to ensure that you got your worth.

2.    State your intention

Always be clear on your intention to quit the company and give true reasons for the same. Give proper notice as per the terms of your employment otherwise; things can go against you.

3.    State reasons for quitting

If you are on good terms with your employer (which you should ideally be), always state the reasons for leaving the job.

4.    Help during the transition phase

The company might find it difficult to get your replacement. Assure them in this letter that you will always stand by the organization and assist them in this transition phase.

5.    Thank your employer

Do not forget to thank your employer for all the good experiences which you might have had during employment with them.
