How Can You Resign From Your Job Gracefully

Do you often feel being trapped by the vicious circle of life and find no way to get out? Well, this often happens when you're standing at the cross road of your life. If you're one of those who follow their drives and passions yet supress them to earn a living and settle down, it's time to buckle up.

Once you've made your mind and sticking to the rules of resigning, make sure you do it with all the grace and poise. It's important to leave a mark while you leave you legacy behind.

No matter what the circumstances are, gather courage and face it like a pro. You got to follow your heart and to begin with, here are some of the very important legal formalities. This includes reading your agreement and follow it, serving the notice period, keep references (for future prospects), take your salary, bonuses, and commissions before leaving.

Now, let's focus on some of the ways on how you can gracefully resign:

#1. Stay Calm

Successful people leave their imprint in subtle forms, start practicing the same. You will encounter different reactions from people, while some would be devastated or down in sorrow, some would feel anguished and long for your company. The best way is to stay calm and announce your decision.

#2. Update Your Contacts

This is one of the most important thing to keep in mind before leaving an organization, you must update your contact list. Keeping in touch with your management and seniors who are professional in the industry might be a great source to fetch an interesting opportunity.

#3. Ask for Reference

Well, there is nothing to feel ashamed of. You have worked dedicatedly for the company day in, day out. A kind reference note from your employer is the least to reciprocate your serving.

#4. Remove Your Belongings Quietly

Maintain calm and compose your belongings together before the final day. You can start removing stuff before you end up becoming a spectacle on the very last day with a huge carton and tons of things overflowing.

#5. Be Upfront In Exit Interview

There's nothing to hide from your immediate boss, you can be open and upfront with him. Communicate your formal resignation to him in a subtle, transparent way so that it becomes smooth for you.

#6.  Serve Your Notice

The last but not the least is to gracefully serve your notice period. Hand over the work and responsibilities to the new joining and make sure you leave it on a good healthy note. After all, farewell must be a sign to remember you for a reason!

The next thing to do after leaving the office is to make sure that you have not lost any important contact and be in touch with your friends and important references that might be good for you in the future.

But be sure to be in contact with the significant contacts through social networking. How hard is it to send messages once or twice a month? So make sure that you show up in their chat list somewhere, so they don’t forget you.

Opinion
Serving Notice Period

Gracious! That is a critical professional issue in today's times. I truly wanted to know how I can be a smooth quitter. I wished to leave my place of employment on a cheerful note and on good terms with my employers. I was looking for a job that is close to my place and help to enhance my skills. While serving my notice period I had numerous issues; however, I am certain in the event that I experience this sort of circumstance in future I will be completely prepared to handle it and adapt to it.
