How to reduce stress in ten minutes a day

Life is fast, fast as anyone can imagine. And we're running a race to make sure we earn our daily bread & butter. A race to make sure we survive in this fast life.

Our daily struggles to compete, to achieve our goals, to survive another day can take a toll on our health, physically & mentally. What we're rewarded with, is stress!

We cannot change what life demands from us but we can surely change the way we live our lives… In a stress-free manner.  

Here are a few easy-to-follow tips to de-stress everyday, which will take ten minutes or less: 

Deep breathing

    Every time you feel that anxiety hits the roof, breathe in & breathe out…. Slowly! Deep breathing can do wonders for the body. It manages the blood pressure & calms the mind. Meditate every day. 

Call your friends

    Connect with your buddies. There’s no better stress-buster than a good chat with friends. Keep that support system alive.

Laugh your heart out

    Watch funny videos, read jokes on the internet, laugh with friends, colleagues & try to remember your bubbly antics from the past. Laugh because it is the best medicine to de-stress.

Maintain a daily journal/life blog 

    Jot down your thoughts, daily experiences in a journal or write a blog. It’s good to look back at what you did right or where you made mistakes. Writing often relieves stress & infuses positive thoughts.

Listen to music 

    Music relieves stress, reduces blood pressure, pulse rate & manages anxiety. Sounds of nature, soft music, instrumentals, etc. will lighten up your day.

10-minute fitness blast or take a walk

    In case you’re into fitness, there’s nothing like a quickie. We mean a 10-minute fitness blast. In case you’re not a fitness freak, take a walk. It does wonders to your day.

Switch-off

    This might sound ridiculous, but try to switch off your phone & computer screen. Just be. Don’t do anything. Daydream, it is a sure stress-buster!
