Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an Indian cricketer who captained the Indian team in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2016 and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014. MS Dhoni demands to be reinstated as limited-overs skipper
“What the hell was he doing? Doesn’t Virat know that cricket is a gentleman’s game? This was not expected from someone who has made his debut under my leadership,” MS Dhoni told a news conference in Ranchi. “It is high time he should step down from the position, and yes, I am ready to take the position again,” he added.
In January, Dhoni announced his decision to step down as limited-overs skipper, paving the way for Kohli to become the captain in all three formats. Dhoni had retired from Test cricket as captain in December 2014.
The just-concluded India-Australia Test series was marred by controversies and rival captains Kohli and Steve Smith were in the centre of it. Kohli stopped just short of calling Smith a cheat after the DRS incident in the second Test in Bengaluru that Smith described as a "brain fade" on his part.
“He has forgotten or lost the basic humaneness actually. I was surprised when I read the report of The Daily Telegraph which described him as the Donald Trump of cricket. I was angry at Ben Horne for making such an immature comment. But little did I know that Virat has gone to such level when I was playing the Vijay Hazare Trophy,” Dhoni said.
India’s Test matches at most venues were played to nearly empty stadiums, and Dhoni said it was because of Kohli’s lack of sportsman spirit.
“See, if you had come to Kolkata and Delhi, where Jharkhand played their Vijay Hazare Trophy matches, there were more spectators there to watch me than to watch these Test matches. That says it all. It was because of Virat's poor behaviour. And you know, knowing that Star Sports didn’t even telecast a single Jharkhand match on TV and chose to telecast the Bengal-Maharashtra match.”
Dhoni is clearly hurt by Kohli's behaviour, and one felt the honesty and his high regard for Indian cricket. We feel the SC-appointed Committee of Administrators should take MSD seriously on this matter. If he is good enough to walk into the limited-overs side as a player, why not reinstate him as skipper? If he wants to do a Shahid Afridi, so be it.

Sakshi Dhoni abused for questioning Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Aadhar
Saskhi Dhoni, the wife of former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhona, had hit headlines earlier this week after she questioned Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for making her husband’s personal details public.
Little did she realise that her action in post-May 2014 India will not be taken kindly by vicious right-wing social media trolls.
No sooner had she posted her comments on Twitter, Mrs Dhoni began to face barrage of abusive posts with right-wing trolls using unspeakable languages to target her. From the languages of the trolls, it was clear that in the new India, asking a legitimate question to a public servant, who on this occasion happens to be a BJP minister had become an unacceptable act.
Only last year, the right-wing Hindutva trolls had made fun of veteran Congress leader, Digvijay Singh’s daughter even when he remained grief-stricken because of his young daughter’s death.
MS Dhoni's Aadhar details leaked on Twitter, wife Sakshi complains to IT minister.
Sakshi Dhoni, wife of former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni, took to Twitter after the cricketer's Aadhaar details were erroneously made public on Tuesday, following which the government agency responsible has been blacklisted.
Sakshi brought the privacy data breach to the notice of information and technology minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Twitter after e-governance agency Common Services Center (CSC) posted MS Dhoni's personal Aadhaar details on the micro-blogging site.
Earlier on Tuesday, the CSC official Twitter handle had reportedly tweeted a photo of MS Dhoni's Aadhaar application form. The tweet was later deleted. Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad liked the tweet, without noticing that Dhoni's personal details had been unwittingly made public. He also tweeted a photo of Dhoni giving his bio-metric details to a CSC representative.
Sakshi apprised the minister of the violation by replying to his tweet.
"Is there any privacy left? Information of Adhaar card, including application, is made public property," she said.
The minister initially denied there had been any such violation and question Sakshi if the tweet had divulged any personal information.
In response, Sakshi shared the CSC's tweet of Dhoni's Aadhaar details with the minister.
'Fan Moment' Led To Aadhaar Data Breach For MS Dhoni, Wife Sakshi Dhoni Tweets Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad
It was meant to be a "fan moment", but went all wrong with one tweet. Govt rejected Padma awards for MS Dhoni, Arnab Goswami, Ram Rahim
The government rejected proposals to confer Padma awards to a clutch of prominent personalities, including cricketer MS Dhoni, controversial spiritual leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, the Indian Express reported on Monday.
Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar and veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, who were awarded the country’s second-highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan, were not on the initial list of nomination, the newspaper said.
Officials told the Indian Express that the two were awarded under the “public affairs” category, which falls under the government’s discretion, but didn’t mention who nominated them.
It is learnt that the players and officials had no idea about the fire till the rooms and the galleries were filled with dense smoke.
