7 Uncanny Things That Happen In TV Soaps But Never In Reality

Have you ever wondered how things would be if what is shown on TV happens in real life? Well, not really! As an audience, you are aware of the fact that most things portrayed on TV cannot happen in real life. Yet, you do not shy away from shouting at every character for behaving like a complete brute when things turn unfavorable for them!

Of course, we understand that something is not true and is just a story for entertainment. But do we not scratch our heads and even fiercely pull the hair? 

Let's quickly browse through the list of uncanny things that are shown on TV but do not happen in real life!

#1. Having Babies With A Stranger

Yes, this happens only in the soapland! Pregnancies between couples are a thing of the past. So to twist the plots, most soaps adopt the idea of having planned/ unplanned babies with the ex-boyfriend/ girlfriend/ husband/ wife, best friend and/ or a random stranger. This is what they genuinely consider the "in-thing." How many of such unions do you hear of in real life?

#2. Never Listen When There's Something Important

"I've got something important, and you should know it right now!" Now int he real world the person would leave the work to pay attention to the vital piece of information that is being shared. However, that's not the case in the Soapland! The person who needs to listen to the essential news will first finish all the work it is preoccupied with, before finally lending an ear to know the story.

#3. Father And Child Reunite After Ages

You'll see millions of fictional reunions. TV soaps make it seem incredibly easy for the two to communicate even after being dead. But does that happen in real life? 

It is far more complicated, and not as smooth as it sounds! Real life relations do not proceed as smoothly as TV soaps portray them to. There are hard feelings, disheartening back stories, neglect, abuse, and addiction but television characters never contemplate on any of these.

#4. Never Going To Work Or School

You will rarely find any TV soap characters going to offices, getting salaries, receiving profits, getting stuck in traffic jams or even school kids going to schools or for extra classes. The adults are profoundly rich and kids are remarkably learned! Unless the setup is particularly about workplaces, you'll never find them struggling with progress in life!

#5. Everyone Seems To Be Overdressed, At All Times

Was that an intimate moment? Just had a shower? Sleeping? No matter how casual the circumstances are, certain TV soaps never let the characters stay without makeup, tidy hair, accessories and shiny shoes.

#6. Stronger Women And Useless Men

You will find that man who is extremely feeble when it comes to decision making. He can never raise his voice even when being brutally abused. On the other hand, women characters in the TV soaps can run the entire country all alone. There's nothing wrong with men not being able to take decisions, but is that the case in real life too? The men in TV soaps appear like primary school kids whereas women are portrayed as the commanders-in-chief.

#7. Marriage Agreements

Like really? How many times have you seriously heard of arrangements of marriage pacts in real life? It's difficult to find marriages that are ruled by quarterly and yearly contracts, instead of being driven by love and trust! The provision of a prenup exists. But, not every other couple opts for it, until and unless the marriage involves protection of the assets of both the parties (in the case of wealthy families).
