The game of dating can be emotionally draining. Some people cannot live without having someone to love in their lives, and others cannot even deal with the idea of dating or relationships. These people are not those that have never wanted to date or got into a serious relationship, but mostly made up of those that are tired of engaging in this activity and now find it absolutely worthless!

Taking a break from dating not only gives you the option to explore your options but also helps you to focus on the more important things in life such as your career, job, and personal space. Taking a break from dating does not necessarily confine to the idea of rejecting the idea of involving with a guy but specifically involves taking a break from serial dating. You have the opportunity to explore eye candies and have all the fun. Some people like the idea of not dating so much, that they only date casually. The cons of casual dating are almost none, and the pros are plenty. You can focus on yourself and also do not have to pamper your date or engage in meaningful conversations all day every day in the name of ‘communication.' The trend of casual dating is something that has recently become popular, and a lot of people prefer taking a break from actual dating to eliminate the fuss and the emotions that are involved in serious relationships which mostly ends in bad blood or post-relationship depression!

For some people, getting over a break up is the hardest thing to do. They cannot even accept the fact that the person they got attached to a person who no longer feels the same, affecting the person’s productivity and their point of view towards life. They tend to become more negative and maybe even realize what a waste of time it was. Taking a break from dating is absolutely okay and normal and there is no reason why you must not do it. Studies have stated that when a person is in a relationship, their productivity declines. That means, now you can wholeheartedly focus on your work or job without having to spend the little time left on someone else with the added bonus of increased productivity. The amount of time that you spend on your phone will also decrease as now you are not constantly checking for your notifications from your lover. This will enhance your productivity even more.

There are a limited amount of hours in a day and an unlimited amount of work and people that need to be attended. No matter how much time you spend on your phone, it never seems like you are still not fully updated. The limited time left after work must now be spent on the most important person in your life, and that is you. You can watch a movie, read a book by your favorite author and not compromise on your sleep as now you do not have to stay awake late at nights to talk to the special someone in your life. You can now spend the weekends catching up with your school friends or family!

When you start dating or get into a relationship with someone, there is a constant pressure of pleasing your partner to maintain the spark which includes romantic outings, special dinner dates and engaging in special intimate time together. While taking a break from all this, you are left with ample time and money to spend on yourself. The only person you need to now impress is YOU. Spend quality time pampering yourself by treating yourself with some good food, watching a classic that you were procrastinating all this while but somehow you could never take out the time to watch or just go splurge on yourself wholeheartedly!

Sometimes people just feel like they are not ready to date someone or they are not ready for a relationship. This can be either due to the fact that they do not have the time to spend on someone else or they are too focused on their career or are usually overloaded with work and responsibilities in their daily life A strained past relationship might also be one of the reasons why they would have given up on the idea of taking a break from dating. If you think that you need a break from dating, then go ahead and take one! If something does not make you happy, then what is the point of dragging and enforcing that action upon yourself, especially when it involves another human. Take your own time to get ready emotionally to date again. This time can vary from a month to a year (or even 5 years), but if you are not ready, you just aren’t. Just because you like someone doesn’t mean you are ready to be with them too!

You don’t have to mandatorily watch that Marvel movie or the Jennifer Aniston starrer series if you don’t want to because now you have the time and option of spending all the time, effort and money on yourself. Compromising on what you actually want to do is now eliminated, and now nobody owns the right to give their dear opinion on your every decision in life!

#9. No Responsibility

Responsibility lessens with singlehood as now you do not have to check your phone every five minutes in order to reply to your lover and can just take a nap, binge on Netflix and do whatever you want to do without anybody’s opinion on the matter. You have all the time left in the world to spend and splurge on yourself.

#10. It’ll Save You Time

You will save a lot of time, by not indulging on those long romantic date nights or long drives that would burn a hole in your pocket and leave no time for self-love. After work or office, you can spend a few hours left before you crash on your ‘me time’. Spending time with yourself can be very special as you will have get to learn a lot about life in general, and about the fact that there is a whole world of opportunities out there apart from just the good old notions of dating and running continuously in search of finding ‘the one’.

You can do whatever you want to do in this world brimming with opportunities without having to think of the consequences on that special person in your life. You no longer have to answer for your decisions to anyone and work towards your own betterment and productivity. You can join a gym or attend classes pertaining to a particular activity or skill that you always wanted to pursue but never got the time to.

Expectation is the root of all disappointment. Therefore, you can now never be disappointed for something that you believed in but was splashed down or not perceived with the same passion by someone who you really liked or cared about.
